Vein Disease is Treatable

Thanks to advances in medical technology, American Vein & Vascular Institute offers a range of modern vein disease treatment options. From conservative compression treatment options to minimally invasive procedures, your care and best outcome are our priorities.

At your first appointment, we develop a customized vein disease treatment plan based on your ultrasound exam, health concerns, lifestyle and preference. Your treatment plan will include at least one of the following minimally invasive procedures or therapy.

We also treat venous disease in the abdomen and pelvis, including:

  • Pelvic congestion syndrome/ovarian vein reflux
  • Scrotal varicose veins (varicocele)
  • May-Thurner Syndrome or IVCS (Iliac Vein Compression Syndrome)

Preparing For Your Vein Disease Treatment

Don’t be afraid to talk to your American Vein & Vascular Institute provider before your treatment. We’re here for you and welcome your questions. Your experience in our care is important and we value the opportunity to explain what to expect, the pre- and post-operative directions, how to wear compression stockings … and, of course, listen to any of your concerns. Sometimes procedures can be completed in the time it takes to have

What to Expect After Your Vein Disease Treatment

Treated veins occasionally reopen or new veins can develop over time, so our follow-up appointments are important. Your first follow-up is usually one to seven days after your treatment. A follow-up ultrasound scan ensures the treated vein is closed and checks for any complications. Bring your compression garments to every follow-up visit (scheduled at 1 month, 3 months, 6 months and 1 year).

Complications are rare and the risks of postponing treatment far outweigh those of having it.

If there is an emergency, our board-certified vein doctors near Denver, Colorado and in Arlington, Texas are well-trained and our clinic is properly equipped to handle it. We also offer 24-hour emergency telephone service, so even after-hours or on weekends, we are available to help. Our vein specialist physicians and staff always discuss the nature, purpose, risks and benefits of our procedures in your initial consultation and throughout your vein disease treatment.
