Gibbs’ appointment to the American College of Phlebology Foundation (ACPF) Board of Directors. Selected for his personal and professional dedication to developing and growing the healthcare industry as it relates to the specialty of vein disease (phlebology), Dr. Gibbs was chosen by the current governing ACPF Board of Directors.

Dr. Gibbs and his wife, Erin Gibbs, founded American Vein & Vascular Institute in January 2010 in Pueblo, Colo., and have since opened seven clinics across Colorado and Texas, with more than 50 employees.

A Mayo Clinic-trained interventional radiologist, Dr. Gibbs is board certified in diagnostic radiology and fellowship trained in vascular/interventional radiology. He serves on the teaching faculty and strategic advisory board for Medtronic, helping to develop minimally invasive treatments for peripheral vascular disease.  Since its release, Dr. Gibbs was the first in Colorado to utilize the cutting edge VenaSealTM closure system, attracting physicians and medical staff from around the United States as well as the world to observe and be trained in the technology.

Dr. Gibbs and his team of physician vein specialists are Diplomates of The American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine (ABVLM). American Vein & Vascular Institute is also a preceptor and training site for physicians and medical professionals training on the most current, evidence-based therapies. A philanthropist, sought-after speaker and instructor, Dr. Gibbs is also Medical Director of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center in Pueblo, Colo., and holds medical licenses in Colorado and Texas.
